The Apple Lady
Amy G. McGuire is known by some as The
Apple Lady. She is a Certified Nutritional Consultant (CNC),
Physical Fitness Specialist (PFS), professional
healthcare journalist, certified teacher and most of
all, an apple lover who empowers adults and children
with nutritional information to create happier,
healthier lives.
Amy earned a Bachelor of Science degree
in Journalism at North Texas State University in 1987.
She is a member of several professional associations,
including the American Medical Writers Association [AMWA],
the American Association of Nutritional Consultants [AANC],
the United Educators Association [UEA] and the Society
of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators [SCBWI].
Amy has worked in the corporate sector
as a marketing communications professional for companies
such as Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc. and ES Medical.
She also worked as a nutritional consultant for the YMCA
where she researched and wrote individual nutrition
plans. She is a former middle school Health Science
teacher who wrote health science lesson plans,
researched special projects, as well as several
children’s health books.
Today, her focus is health education for
adults and children through the corporate, school and
community-based organizations. Amy makes special
appearances dressed in full apple costume as The Apple
Lady designed to educate adults and children on a
variety of health-related topics. She also prepares
custom-designed
presentations and lesson plans.
